Darcy’s Role

A committed professional skilled in account management, Darcy has 30 years of insurance experience with BCBSNE, currently serving employer groups in BCBSNE’s large group segment. She works closely with her clients, brokers and consultants by delivering and negotiating renewal terms, introducing new products and services, resolving business challenges, and providing analysis and consultation alongside her other account team members. She also serves in a leadership role for a group of account executives, providing expertise and serving as a mentor to assist them in serving their assigned group clients.\

Professional Background

Darcy originally joined BCBSNE as a claim auditor, then eventually moved into our customer service unit. Her background in claims administration and customer service served as a solid knowledge base for her transition to Account Management in 2007 as an Account Service Representative. She was then promoted to Account Executive in 2015, then to Strategic Account Executive in 2018, and then to her current role as Account Executive Leader.

Darcy’s industry experience allows her to effectively communicate and provide strategic direction to her assigned group clients, providing overall management for large insured and self-funded group accounts.

Education, Certifications and Professional Affiliations

Darcy has a strong work ethic from her upbringing in the Iowa farm community. She has a Graphic Arts degree, graduating with a 4.0 GPA, and has a Nebraska Department of Insurance Producer’s License in Sickness, Accident and Health. Darcy is also a current member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU).

Darcy also donates her time to several organizations in key volunteer and administrative roles. She is heavily involved in the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation (CCF), where she has served as a member of its Board of Directors since 2021. She is also an Executive Committee member for the CCF’s annual Take Steps fundraising walk. She is instrumental in volunteering and increasing donations for all CCF events. She was selected as the recipient of the 2026 Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation Volunteer Champion Award and will be honored at the Foundation’s Night of Champions Gala.
