Julie Lubisi is the director of Project Speak at the College of Saint Mary. She is a Survivor with over 20 years’ experience providing direct client services, writing and managing grants, and designing and evaluating programs. Julie has had the privilege to work with those impacted by the child welfare system, refugee resettlement, HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Julie’s work extends across the globe as a Peace Corps volunteer in South Africa, a volunteer at a community-based clinic in Nicaragua, a human trafficking consultant in Malawi, and a researcher in Bangladesh. Julie is pursuing a PhD in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Research with a focus on healthcare’s response to gender-based violence among refugee women and adolescent girls. She has a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and two master's degrees in public administration and public health. Julie loves exploring the world of art with her daughter, traveling, and spending time with her dog, Benji.
